Description: Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds Pre-owned Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds ref Q3988482 (2023). The Reverso has been in production since 1931, and its ingenious design was born out of necessity to protect the watch face during rigorous polo matches. Variations with small seconds joined to fold just a few years later in 1934.  The Duoface, on the other hand, is a relatively newer innovation, hitting the market 60 years later in 1994.  As its name suggests, the Duoface replaces the solid case back with another dial, essentially turning the watch into a GMT. Both dials are powered by the same caliber 854, a slim hand-wound movement. On this model, released in 2019, the front face is a handsome sunray blue with a matching blue small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock.  Flip that dial over, and the reverse side reveals a silvered grey dial with a Clous de Paris guilloché texture and handy day/night indicators. The watch is cased in steel and is paired here with a blue Casa Fagliano leather strap.
